Our Story

Chao Chao Gluten Free Bakery started at home about 12 years ago when gluten-free baking became part of our family’s everyday life. It was unfortunate, but more than anything, we did not want anyone in our family to feel different or left out when it came to enjoying dessert. When we looked for gluten-free treats on the market, we found that many options did not live up to the flavor and quality we loved.

So we started baking our own. Over time, those home recipes turned into carefully refined desserts made with high-quality ingredients and a lot of care, always with the goal of making gluten-free feel just as special as anything else.

In March 2025, we brought Chao Chao to the Pearl Farmers Market in San Antonio, Texas. Since then, we have grown quickly, reaching families and individuals who had been searching for gluten-free desserts that truly compare to traditional baked goods. Today, Chao Chao is a Mexican women-owned bakery built on inclusivity, tradition, and the belief that everyone deserves to enjoy dessert without compromise.
