Our Story
Chao Chao Gluten Free Bakery started at home about 12 years ago when gluten-free baking became part of our family’s everyday life. While the change wasn’t something we had planned, we were determined that no one in our family would ever feel different or left out when it came to enjoying dessert. From the very beginning, our philosophy has been flavor first. When we looked for gluten-free treats on the market, we found that many options simply didn’t deliver the rich taste, texture, or quality we loved.
So we started baking our own. Guided by a flavor-first approach, we created desserts that are every bit as delicious as traditional baked goods while using thoughtfully selected, high-quality gluten-free ingredients. Over time, our home recipes evolved into carefully refined desserts that prove you don’t have to choose between incredible flavor and ingredients you can feel good about.
In March 2025, we brought Chao Chao to the Pearl Farmers Market in San Antonio, Texas. Since then, we have grown quickly, reaching families and individuals who have been searching for gluten-free desserts that truly compare to traditional baked goods. Today, Chao Chao is a women-owned bakery built on inclusivity, tradition, and the belief that everyone deserves desserts that are full of flavor, made with care, and never require compromise.
